HAIR TIPS

1. Always brush and detangle your hair from the ends working your way up to the root area.
2. Use a sulfate free shampoo. Sulfates are known to strip the hair of its natural oils.
3. Rinsing your conditioner out with cool water will seal the cuticle and give the hair a natural sheen.
4. Shampooing with cool water will help extend the life of your hair color.
5. When round brushing your extensions. Do a ruff dry first, then round brush hair once it’s about 90% dry.
6. If you want to limit using heat in your hair and want a little texture to your hair. Lightly sprits detangled hair with water or your favorite leave-in and braid hair at night. Remove braids in the morning for beautiful texture.
7. Never keep your extensions in longer then the time recommended by your stylist to avoid breakage.
8. Sleep with extensions in a loose braid at night to avoid tangles.

Maintenance Tips:

Proper maintenance is essential to keeping your hair extensions healthy and prolonging the life of your investment.

Hair Extension Basics:

• Extensions should always be applied and removed by a certified professional. We do offer classes.
• Bleaching extensions is never recommended.
• Deposit color is ok but always do a test strand first. Color is always done at your own risk.
• Sleep with your hair in a braid, high bun, or wrap in silk scarf.
• Brush your hair daily. Use a looped extension brush to keep roots detangled.
• Always use heat protectant when using heated styling tools.

Things to Avoid:

• Never leave extensions in longer thank recommended.
• Never go to bed with wet unbraided hair.
• Never let sunscreen, tanning products, or alcohol come in contact with extensions. They may become discolored.
• Never go swimming with extensions. They may tangle and change color.
• *If you can’t avoid swimming:
  • Braid your hair and coat with leave-in conditioner.
  • Wash hair immediately once out of water.

Washing Tips:

• Wait at least 48 hours to wash after application of tape-ins.
• Only use products recommended by Hermosa Hair Extensions, LLC.
• Hair care products should be lightweight and gentle.
• Avoid conditioner and oil based products on your scalp as it could make the extensions slip.

How to Wash:

• Best to wash your hair 2-3 times per week.
• Brush your hair before washing.
• Divide hair in half to make sure you are getting a deep clean especially to those on the bottom.
• We recommend using Monat hair care.
• Always do 2 shampoos. Apply the shampoo to soaking wet hair and leave on for 1-2 minutes each wash. Rinse well.
• Squeeze excess water out of hair before applying conditioner. Apply conditioner to mid shaft to ends. Avoid putting conditioner on scalp and bonds.
• Never go to sleep with wet hair.
